Frequently Asked Questions
Getting Started
What is Vibe With Me? +
Vibe With Me is a music social app built for the live music and festival community. When you meet someone at a show, you tap your Vibe Tag or scan a QR code to instantly connect — no searching for usernames, no follow requests. Your shared concerts become part of your Show Journal, a personal history of the people and music that brought you together.
How do I create an account? +
Download the app from the App Store or Google Play. You can sign in with Apple or Google for instant setup — or use your phone number (SMS code) or email (magic link) if you prefer. Once you're in, you'll set up your profile with your name, a short vibe description, and optionally a profile photo, city, and pronouns. You'll also pick your favorite music genres and artists to personalize your experience. You can add connection info like Instagram, phone, or email so people you vibe with can reach you. Everything is editable later from the My Vibe tab.
Is Vibe With Me free? +
Yes! The core experience is completely free — connecting with people at shows, managing your vibes, browsing your Show Journal, and posting to Pulse (your activity feed for sharing what shows you’re going to, reflections on past shows, and general music moments with your vibe connections).
What’s the minimum age to use Vibe With Me? +
You must be 18 or older to create an account.
Vibe Tags & Connecting
What is a Vibe Tag? +
A Vibe Tag is how you connect with someone at a live event. It can be a physical NFC-enabled keychain, sticker, or card — or a QR code displayed in the app. When someone taps your tag or scans your code, your profile pops up on their device and they can hit "Vibe with you" to send a request.
How do I use a physical Vibe Tag? +
Hold your NFC keychain, sticker, or card near someone's phone. Their phone will detect the tag, open the app (or prompt them to download it), and pull up your profile. From there they can tap "Vibe with you" to send a connection request.
How does the QR code work? +
Open the app and tap the Share a Vibe button in the center of the tab bar. Your personal QR code appears on screen. Have the other person scan it with their phone's camera or the in-app scanner. Your profile will appear on their screen and they can send you a vibe request from there.
What happens after someone taps my tag or scans my code? +
Your public profile appears on their device. If they tap "Vibe with you," a request is sent to your Vibes tab where you can accept or decline it. All connections require your approval before they go through — so you’re always in control.
Can I connect if I don’t have signal at the show? +
Yes — Vibe With Me is built for packed venues and festival fields where service drops out. If you tap someone’s Vibe Tag or scan their QR code while you’re offline, we save the scan right on your phone and queue it to sync the moment you’re back online. You’ll see a quick confirmation that the scan was saved, and you don’t need to do anything else.
What we save on your device for an offline scan:
As soon as your connection comes back, we use that saved scan to send your vibe request and add the scan to your Recent Scans — timestamped to when you tapped, not when your phone reconnected. A couple of things to keep in mind: the other person’s full profile only loads once you’re back online, and Pulse posts and show RSVPs need an active connection too. Saved scans are stored only on your device until they sync.
What we save on your device for an offline scan:
- Whether it was an NFC tap or a QR code scan
- Which tag or person you scanned (the tag’s ID, or the profile it points to)
- The exact time you scanned, so the moment is dated to when you actually met
As soon as your connection comes back, we use that saved scan to send your vibe request and add the scan to your Recent Scans — timestamped to when you tapped, not when your phone reconnected. Can I control who connects with me? +
Yes. Every connection requires your explicit approval by default. You’ll see incoming vibe requests in your Vibes tab and can accept or decline each one. You can also adjust this behavior in your privacy settings.
Where can I buy physical Vibe Tags? +
Physical Vibe Tags (keychains, stickers, and cards) are available in the Merch tab within the app. They ship directly to you pre-programmed and ready to use.
How many Vibe Tags can I have? +
As many as you want — there’s no limit. Every tag you claim points back to the same profile, so a keychain on your bag, a sticker on your phone case, and a card in your wallet all open your one Vibe With Me profile. You can also unclaim a tag at any time to gift it to a friend.
Troubleshooting Vibe Tags & NFC
NFC isn’t working on my iPhone — what should I check? +
iOS handles NFC differently from Android, so a few things to check:
- Hold the very top of your iPhone against the tag. The NFC antenna sits behind the camera bump, not the middle or back of the phone. Most "broken tag" reports turn out to be holding the wrong spot.
- Make sure your iPhone is unlocked and the screen is on. iOS won’t scan tags from a locked, sleeping phone.
- iPhone XS, XR, 11, or newer: background tag reading is automatic — just tap the top of the phone to the tag and a notification banner appears. No app needs to be open.
- iPhone 7, 8, or X: background reading isn’t supported. Open Control Center, tap the NFC Tag Reader button, then hold the top of the phone to the tag. If the button isn’t there, add it via Settings → Control Center → NFC Tag Reader.
- Check Screen Time restrictions. If Settings → Screen Time → Content & Privacy Restrictions is on, make sure allowed apps include Safari and the in-app browser handler — otherwise the tag’s URL has nowhere to open.
- Still no luck? Use the QR code printed on your tag instead, and let us know below so we can take a look.
NFC isn’t working on my Android phone — what should I check? +
On Android, NFC is a system toggle that can be off:
- Turn NFC on. Open Settings → Connected devices → Connection preferences → NFC (the path varies slightly by manufacturer). Make sure the toggle is enabled.
- Grant the Vibe With Me app NFC permission if prompted.
- Hold the back-center of your phone against the tag. Unlike iPhone, most Android antennas sit in the middle of the back panel.
- Unlock your phone first. Most Android devices won’t read tags while locked.
- Remove thick cases or metal plates (especially MagSafe-style metal rings) — they can block the NFC signal.
- Still stuck? The QR code on your tag works as a fallback, and you can reach us with the form below.
Which iPhones can read Vibe Tags? +
Any iPhone from iPhone 7 onward has the NFC hardware needed to read a Vibe Tag. iPhone XS and newer read tags automatically in the background — just tap the top of the phone to the tag. iPhone 7, 8, and X can read tags too, but you’ll need to open the NFC Tag Reader from Control Center first. If your iPhone doesn’t support NFC at all (iPhone 6s or earlier), the QR code printed on every tag works just as well.
Your Profile & Privacy
What information is visible on my profile? +
Your name, profile photo, vibe description, city, and pronouns are visible on your public profile when you add them. Your favorite artists and genres are also displayed. Connection icons (Instagram, phone, etc.) are shown on your profile, but the actual details are locked — someone needs to be a shared vibe to unlock them. You control what’s on your profile simply by adding or removing it in My Vibe.
How do I edit my profile? +
Go to the My Vibe tab to update your name, photo, vibe description, city, music preferences, and social connections.
Does Vibe With Me track my location? +
We capture city-level location only when you make a connection at an event, so both of you have context about where you met. We never track your GPS continuously, and we never store precise coordinates from scans. You can learn more in our Privacy Policy.
Groups
What are Group Vibes? +
Group Vibes let you create a shared space with people you’ve connected with — perfect for festival crews, show buddies, or any group of music friends. You can find them under the Group Vibes tab on the Vibes screen.
How do I create a group? +
Go to the Vibes tab, switch to Group Vibes, and tap the create button. Give your group a name and optional description, then invite people from your shared vibes. You’ll be the group admin.
Can I remove someone from a group? +
Group admins can add and remove members. Non-admin members can leave a group at any time.
Account & Security
How do I enable Face ID / Touch ID? +
Go to My Vibe > Settings, then look for the Security section and toggle on biometric authentication. This lets you log in quickly without entering your credentials each time.
How do I delete my account? +
Go to My Vibe > Account > Delete Account. This will permanently remove your profile, connections, and all associated data. This action cannot be undone. If you need assistance, contact us using the form below.
I'm having trouble logging in. +
Make sure you're using the same sign-in method you used to create your account (Apple, Google, phone, or email). If you signed up with your phone number, ensure you're entering the correct country code. If you're not receiving a verification code, check your signal or spam folder and try again in a few minutes. We aggregate show and event data from multiple sources to help you discover upcoming events in your area. Show listings are provided for discovery purposes — always confirm details with the venue or promoter.
Can I submit a show that's missing? +
